Perhaps it’s my introverted temperament that attracts me to images of personal, quiet moments taken inside the home. It’s best to have balance, giving attention both to one’s internal and private world and to the larger external world. But in my leisure time, more often I’d prefer a quiet evening with a close friend over a boisterous party. Most of the time, I’d choose a Saturday morning curled up on the couch with a book over a trip to the amusement park. The images here reflect these preferences.
Home can offer sanctuary. A place where you can rest, where you can spend time with loved ones or be alone. A place of contemplation. Relaxation. Sensuality. Warmth. The freedom and comfort of not having to perform, or stick to the schedule, or be anyone other than yourself. Here, within the unstructured time and everyday experiences are... Moments of tenderness. Of solitude. Vulnerability. Connection. And retreat.
